As the "pockets" in the wheel fill with water, the weight of the water causes the wheel to turn forward.

Much better enlarged! The slow shutter catches the trails made by the small droplets of water splashing on the wheel.

Larry these are excellent shots. So interesting. It is so amazing to see how clear the axle area is and how much motion is caught in the outer rim area. A study in physics also!!
