This afternoon I looked out to see a young mockingbird that had fallen out of its nest. We'd just mowed the grass yesterday, so you can imagine how small the baby bird must be! The mother was watching from a nearby street light, and chattered angrily as I picked up the baby and placed it back in the nest.
