High Key Soft Color Photography Technique

2012.05.24
pixel
Using natural light from our bedroom windows, I set the exposure to over-expose by 2 f-stops.
pixel
Using Photoshop Elements 8, I further increased the exposure on the RAW image by 1.5 stops.
pixel
Finally, I added an adjustment layer that allowed me to play with the highlights, shadows, and midrange levels until I got this image.

(Am I a lucky man or what!!!)
pixel
Same technique, only changed to black and white.
pixel
(Yes, her eyes ARE that spectacular!) No Photoshop needed!
pixel
Here are a few of the progressive steps in I used in taking and processing a couple of shots of Brenda to attempt the "High Key Soft Color" photography technique. Here's a link to some information on the technique.

Others taking the Photographic Technique Challenge are here.

mwbergeron01 The slight side profiles of 4 and 5 are great examples of this technique! Thanks for the editing info!

RayNvb Hard to pick a favorite. Although #3 is rather freaky... a head without a body. Those eyes do pop don't they.

MoMac Yes lucky you , but I like Brenda in the natural state , these ghostly portraits are rather creepy

ASINUS Perfect i think! #2 it's that i consider more adequate to the ptc proposition.
Because an excessive contrast, destroy the soft tones from colour. Good work my friend!.
