Mammoth Spring

Mammoth Spring State Park, where Mammoth Spring produces over 9,000,000 gallons of water each hour, creating the Spring River.

The spring at its origin creates a large pool.

This dam was built in 1887 to generate electricity, but the power company is no longer active here. Water flows over the dam at the same rate of 9,000,000 gallons per hour.

Brenda and I rode the trike 130 miles today, going to Mammoth Spring, Arkansas, near the Missouri border. It was 104 degrees F, but the water from the spring was a cool 58 degrees! The spring generates over 9 million gallons of water EVERY HOUR!

Wow. a beautiful place! I can see the power of the water in #4....great shot! 104 degrees?? Ouch...you don't EVEN want to know the high temp in WP today :))

That's an impressive amount of water! Pretty set! I never saw it get about 73 here today, I even pulled out long jeans.

103 here yesterday Larry. I was hoping for higher humidity - but it was a good day regardless.... Great report on the spring. Thats alot of h2o

I dont think I could have rode that far in that type of weather..but I admire the both of you!! beautiful place!

WOW what a beautiful place!! Ken and I rode our quads for an hour and never left our neighborhood!! :+) #4 is just beautiful!!
