Norfork Dam is one of two major hydroelectric dams within 15 miles of my town. The lakes and rivers are a tremendous source of tourists and retirees who come to enjoy the Ozark Mountains. It is rare that the water reached levels so high that the "flood gates" are opened, but the sight is spectacular!
