Photgraphic Technique Challenge - Single Light Source

2012.08.03
pixel
Light source high in front.
pixel
Light source left darkens the far side of the man's face.
pixel
Light source directly above darkens the man's face - looks sinister!
pixel
Light source on opposite side gives a little light to the man's face, but illuminates the child's face wonderfully!
pixel
I didn't read the challenge very well - thus no "Dutch angle" or any other angle. Changing the placement of the single light source was interesting nontheless.

Others participating in the challenge are here.

mwbergeron01 I do like the different look each light angle gives for the shots!

MoMac Nice sculpture you used for the light example .
The first thing I was taught at my art class was where the light comes from and the shadows it creates .

DancingDolphin It is interesting how moving the light source changed the way they looked... no idea what Dutch Angle is either!

djnana Because this is such a special statue to us, I love them all, but my favorite is the last one with the light on the child's upturned face. Beautiful set, Hon.
