My Blue Memories

First adventure on Vancouver Island is Parksville. It's a small town alongside a highway. Buses are once an hour. Very nice beach and forest park. We were eating on the beach without noticing that we had been surrounded by fast and quiet tide.

Anderson hill park near my place in Victoria. Good view of the golf club besides the beach. Oak Bay's nature parks tend to be small, soft adventure spaces for easy walking, hiking or bird watching. Oceanfront parks are rocky and require proper footwear. Many are home to wildflowers in the spring.

First time in Vancouver. Canada Place is the home of the Vancouver Convention Centre, the Pan Pacific Hotel, Vancouver's World Trade Centre, and the world's first permanent IMAX 3D theatre. The white sails of the building have made it a prominent landmark for the city.

Back from Vancouver, on the ferry.

Sidney is located on the southern tip of Vancouver Island on the Saanich Peninsula - just a 20 minute drive from downtown Victoria. Sidney is home to the Sidney/Anacortes Ferry Terminal and is just minutes from the Victoria International Airport and the Swartz Bay Ferry Terminal.
