In march, we pretty much forgot to go on a state park trip, and at 2pm on March 31st, we decided that we still HAD to go. Lets just start off by saying, it was a poor idea to go, and all signs were pointing to NO, don't do it... Linea and I completed this trip... alive, and soaked.
Journal entry:
"Here we are taking a last minute trip to frontanc. Map quest kinda fucked us over and we gone past boy in shorts [large statue of a boy in shorts] 3 times cuz we cant decide which way to go. The good news is that we finally got photos of boy in shorts. I think we are going the right way now. The world has stopped crying on us...."
all and all we got there, but it was raining and looked like it was going to rain. Frontenac is basically on top of a big bluff, and at the time it looked like we were in the clouds. Linea thought it would be a smart idea to leave her camera case in the car, to no avail it started down pouring as soon as we got away from the car. So we crammed it in my camera backpack. And continued with our hike, it wasnt going to stop us from hiking, it narrowed down to just a little rain. So, we started hiking down the bluff. The steps were all rotten and the hill was steep. Linea was taking a picture of a leaf on the tree and slipped, nearly fell to her death. For some bright idea, we climbed all the way down to the river. It was starting to get dark, and I guess it was too eerie to keep my camera in my bag, so... i took it out to photograph a little... then the thunder came, and the lightening... the hair was standing on the back of our necks, and as my meteorology taught me, that when that happens, your in the lightning collumn, and you better get the hell out of there. So we ran, in the rain, and in the mud, up and up and up the hill. It was not fun. Linea called her boyfriend, to let him know where we were, just in case we didn't make it home....
We made it back to the car... drenched... and our journal entry was...
