Nice sunsets. The aura around the sun is most likely a contrast problem. Try a graduated ND filter and underexpose about a third of a stop and see if that doesn't help. BJ Beejay · 2011-09-05: 11:32

o idk about the outline. use a smaller aperture maybe? i can't see your EXIF metadata so i can't really offer anything. plus there's maybe a lot of clutter in the atmosphere - dust and pollen and other pollutants that lend itself to the non distinct outline ????? · 2011-09-05: 23:22

I'm not entirely sure in regards to the aura.. in my eyes these are all just so beautiful. Don't all sun shots kinda have that? I guess, the only things I can possibly think are either like David said, the haze/pollutants in the air, even marginally, or, and increase in colour saturation through the camera's internal autosettings? Great shots. The aura is caused by the digital sensor in the camera. Not much you can do about it except try not to point the camera directly towards the sun. jlmphotos · 2011-09-07: 14:46
