Leavenworth Vacation Day 1

We arrived . . . YAY! Each suite has its own separate gazebo with jacuzzi. Headed there as soon as I'm done posting.

We have a lovely view from our suite.

The town is just so . . . adorable! There is a city ordinance that any new building has to be approved by the design council to make sure it meets the "Bavarian" specifications.
|
So we're walking down the street in a town almost 300 miles from home where we don't know a soul when Derek hears someone say, "Is that my aunt Felecia" Well damned if it wasn't my lovely niece Tess! I was like "WTH?" She lives in Seattle and her swim team was traveling to Wenatchee and stopped here. How weird!

We were starving by the time we checked into our room and all so we came here for dinner. We got the Wolfgang Amadeus Platter for 2.
|
It started with a sample of several (and wonderful) salads and a pear cosmo. Mmmmmm.
|
Followed by this platter containing apple-pork bratwurst, red wine & cranberry pork bratwurst, petite pork shanks, grilled Tyrolean ham,
pork schnitzel Wiener Art, Lyonnaise potatoes, spaetzle with wild mushroom sauce, red cabbage, winekraut and homemade sweet mustard. Everything was fabulous!

We have a sauna in our room! So now we're headed out to the jacuzzi and then in to the sauna. *sigh*

Wonderful getaway! The town is so colorful and interesting..love the gazebo at every suite..Enjoy, enjoy, enjoy! (food photo made my mouth water) You did a great job making us jealous with the photos :-) See, you never can tell who you will see! That's incredible..

What a fun post!! I am envious but it I will live vicariously through you for now! That is wild about running into your niece but I have a friend that seems to run into people she knows wherever she goes!
