My nan died this year. The cross stitch cushion you see in the picture was made by her own fair hands. I also have a cross stitch picture that my aunt is keeping for me (wouldn't fit in ryanair's luggage allowance!).
It reminds me of staying at my nan's and being taught to knit, cross stitch and make rugs. I really should get sproglet doing something like this.

It's great to have an everyday reminder of your nan. When my grandma died, I asked to have an atlas that we used to look in together - it's one of very few books I brought with me when I moved to Canada. It sits on a shelf in my living room, and every time I look at it, it reminds me of the hours my grandma and I could spend over it, talking about traveling and people elsewhere in the world. :o) GinCanada · 2008-11-12: 08:55
