Coming Up Short

Took my dog out for a hike today and came across this stream. As I'm looking at the ice, out of the corner of my eye I see a brown blur mid-air and then hear the splash/ice breaking. Yup. I expect nothing less from him ;) He thinks he's Evel Kenievel or something. Some of the spans he tries to jump are just plain silly. Gotta admire his optimism though.

Luckily had my little P&S and grabbed this before helping him out. No worries though - I cross this dozens a times a year on my mountain bike and I knew it wasn't more than about 0.5 meter deep this time of year.

And being the stoic guy that he is, he never once so much as shivered even though we were about 4km from the car here.
