One of my favourite bands,
Magneta Lane was playing last night in Toronto for NXNE but I had a company dinner to go to so wouldn't be able to make it. 9:15 I get back home and have this idea, I can make it! Quickly call a buddy I was talking about the show with and say let's do it, it's gonna happen. The set starts at 11:00 - no problem, we 've got lots of time!
Had to make a decision, highway 401 or 403? Figured 403 had more radar traps so I'm going 401. That was my downfall. 3 lanes merge to 1 on a Friday night on the interstate. Took 40 minutes to go a few km's. I still had hope. What band isn't fashionably late to start?
So close yet so far. A valiant attempt but we j-u-s-t missed the show. I would have been happy with a few songs but no dice. The good news is their new album comes out at the end of summer so they'll tour to support that. I WILL see them!
