I don’t remember seeing a place where I`ve felt the power of nature more intense then in Neuhausen (CH), watching the Rhine Falls, the largest Falls in Europe!
Here are some interesting facts of this spectacular nature-wonder.
(All shots are taken today – no. 5 is taken by my husband)
500’000 years ago the glaciers moved from the alps downwards due to a drastic fall in temperature, and formed the landscape as it is nowadays. With an average flow of 700 m3 / sec the water cascades down the cataracts, which are 150 m wide and 23 m high. Taking a boat trip into the basin below the cataracts you can feel the great power of the rushing water.
A boat trip either to the famous rock in the middle of the Falls with a short walk to the top, or across the river below the Falls or down the Rhine River are most exciting events. Starting from the medieval castle ‘Schloss Laufen’ a path (the one we have taken) leads down alongside the splashing water onto the lookout Känzeli enabling the visitor a breathtaking contact with the Falls.

WOW.....That is incredible.. I can't imagine being that close to falls that big..We are going to Niagara Canada this fall, but I think these are bigger!
