Reading pain

this was the very first image right at the entrance of the exhibition to stumble against my senses. I was badly scolded by the museum personal for taking this image so as law-abiding citizen I`ve renounced any further attempts (actually, I was scolded the second time but the pic turned out useless, blurry, not worth of the risk :-(
I`ve never been to nigeria, don’t know a single detail about his journey full of trials to switzerland as refugee, but I can read the entire story from his face. this is the fascination of photography for me.

Unchained Grat picture! I do not se pain, but despair, hopelessness...pain of the soul.

etodd80 Its an amazing piece of artwork but it even adds another dimension with your reflection. An interesting portrayal of both the art and your interest in it. Its a great shot!

stormfish oh, you seen the exhibition! :-))

yes, i was impressed about this, too. in fact, it's why i usually prefer press photography over art photography, even though i found some of the pictures on that exhibition too "shiny", too well done, too perfect. but that's probably due to them being the results of a huge competition.

now with this picture, you add a second story to the nigerian refugees - it's that of yourself as a spectator. and that's what fascinates me - what those stories we look at become when they reflect in our view. what do YOU make out of him? what do I make out of you looking at him? all this... and so much more... would be worth discussing. any time for that? ;-)

stormfish p.s. "zürich is sometimes the middle of the universe"? LOL! :-))

TIM927 that's happening all around the world, it is good that we dont get used to it and get touched by what is behind an image,,, they should change the photo of the museum by this one,,cos it really gets a different dimension
