Jeep + Offroad Trails = FUN!

Good friends bought a cool new jeep awhile back and we took it out on an off-road trail on Sunday.

Bumpy....winding....narrow....steep....all the way to the beaver ponds in a remote area!

The dozen or so ponds were washed out a few years ago....but the beavers have been busy since then and the
ponds are back. Unfortunately, no beavers in sight while we were there.

Pond reflections....

As we were leaving we noticed another jeep across the pond heading into the water. I jumped out of the vehicle and found a "window' between pine branches to get a shot.

There we go! Well, I'm actually down the way a bit taking a shot ;))

Sunday was warm and dry in this area and since then we had several inches of snow!

The Shot That Got Away: One of the highlights of the ride was that we saw an animal that looked to be a wolf. It crossed over the road about 50 + yards in front of us. Large canine (definitely not a coyote), longish gray fur, moved like a wild animal. Who knows?

Cool set theres no better way to get up in there and have some 4x4 fun without a jeep.

Even though you missed out on one Beast, You captured this Off road 4 wheel drive Beast in a cool angle and low to the ground shot very nicely! Lovely reflections too!

Great Captures !! Love the reflections in #2 & #4 !! Was the jeep a Rubicon ?? Still might have been a big coyote !

Cool! Sunday was a wonderfully warm day and it looks like you were making the most of it! A wolf? What a fabulous sighting! Not sure about a wolf population in Colorado, but of course they are in Wyoming and I'm trying to remember if they were reintroduced here. I know there are hybrids in the Lake George area though in a shelter. Maybe an escapee? Great shots!

nice place and car - I have also such friend who loves driving such cars through the forest, don't worry - we have also snow and frosty days.beautifull weather before Easter!

Sounds like a 'big fish' story to me, Marsha! Just kidding... how awesome ... sometimes it doesn't really matter if you can identify them, it's the potential to have seen it that counts! Very fun set... we see this in the unpaved mountain roads around here and people always seem to be having a great time!
