Sweet Sadie, Lovely Lady

We had a house guest over the weekend, an older retired lady named Sadie.
Sadie is a sweet golden retriever with a lovely, gentle disposition, takes life
one moment at a time and enjoys everything to the fullest even though her
health isn't what it used to be and she's getting on in years.

Sadie retired from her job a few years ago as a therapy dog
visiting folks in hospice. No doubt she brightened the hours
of many people who needed a caring friend just to sit with them
in silence for awhile, or maybe listen to a story or two.

Sadie now has arthritis and has difficulty walking; she's also a bit
hard of hearing and seeing, but none of that seems to matter at all to her.
She takes everything in stride and never complains. Often she hobbles
over to get a hug and be petted and then lays down peacefully by your
feet - she just loves to be close to people

When the back door opens it takes Sadie awhile to make her way outside
and around the the yard but as I observed her it was obvious how much
enjoyment she was getting from the little things....putting her nose up
to breathe the fresh air, sniffing a pine cone, or watching the other dogs play.
Here she is taking a rest on a bed of pine needles and basking in the warmth of the sun.

Sadie lives with her mom (lifeisgood), dad, and brother, Sam, in comfort and surrounded by love.
It's always a pleasure to have her visit and if you watch her long enough you can
learn some lessons about enjoying life. You're a good girl, Sadie, come back soon :)))
