If the leaders don't listen to the majority here in Stuttgart, then such is their true party name!
These 180 - 200 year-old trees are amazingly majestic and simply do not need to be removed for modernizing the station.
Authorities and papers have reported that we have used our children as "shields"! These accusations are the most hideous and disgusting of lies. We, as peaceful demonstrators and loving parents, would NEVER use our children in such a cowardly way. No, these children are learning and witnessing "freedom" and how democracy can work. These desperate lies to discredit the demonstrators causes me to easily question tactics such liars would use with their own children, however.
Newspapers up to now have been reporting that there are only hundreds or a few thousand. Protests of more than ten thousand weeks ago have easily surmounted 20-30 thousand until last night when there were more than 50-50 thousand people of ALL classes and ages.
The crowds begin to leave the Schloßpark to the right to start the march around Stuttgart in front of our landmark station in the right background.
This "parade" goes beyond the background - further than can be seen in this photo. The march had been going on for 15-20 minutes with this amount of people at this point.
And they're still coming...

Police barricades in the Stuttgart train station.

Our beautiful train station and the end of the demonstrators.
Here they are coming back.

Thank you! Never saw this in the german people before. And as for governments that promise democracy, well, that is an old story that seems to raise it's head where ever we humans let ourselves be moved by the latest flavor. The people want democracy, while the government just wants power. Sometimes when I hear "my government" ( sic ) talking about spreading this democracy across the globe, I ask myself, to what end?

Self Serving Politicians seem to be a world wide problem. It is sad. I hope they win their fight!!
