For many people, such as myself, once you have seen but so much snow, you have seen enough of it. However, I have to confess that although I feel that way when I have to get up on a cold winter's day to go to work without a car, and I would much rather be walking on dry ground, I still have a place in my heart for the bright, white stuff. (and the next two weeks are free from work for me)

Before going out this morning, I bundled myself up warmly and headed out the door to walk through the vineyards after a 12-14 inch snow that fell for about 36 hours ending late Christmas day. The temps are quite below freezing and no snow is melting today. Some of the same shots can be seen in my autumn shots. The seasonal contrasts are amazing.

So, in spite of all of you who are tired of looking at snow and who are still trying to come to terms with yet another 3 - 4 months of the stuff, here are some of my favorite pictures that I took this morning.

Be glad that you are in a warm room looking at them, because as many of you know, it's coooool outside!

2, 4, 5 and 7 are my favs, and I am VERY glad I'm inside, even if it is chilly! I especially like the little cottage, which would be a "datche" here. I "ONCE" took some snow photos that I enjoyed... LOL. OK, so mostly I hate the stuff, but under just the right conditions (which it appears you have) I would venture forth also. The conditions: snow that sticks to the trees and then the sun comes out... voila, the perfect snow... for about an hour! I remember these vineyards... quite pretty in snow as well.
