I live at the same tram stop as one of Stuttgart's two principal cemeteries. Sounds spooky to some, but in fact most cemeteries in Germany are truly beautiful places to walk and to enjoy the beautiful flowers that are embedded at the grave sites.

This lovely guardian angel is seen in front of the stone carver's studio at the end of my street.

I LOVE cemeteries... and the older the better. So fascinating to walk though and read the history that is written on the stones. That's one reason why when my first husband died I was determined NOT to have the current fad of small marker that says nothing... I had to have the marker cut in Vermont and shipped to Michigan... and I made sure it said something about his life on it!
