In the far left distance, the Bodensee (Lake of Constance) can be seen. It is bordered by Germany, Switzerland and Austria.

Into the Light! --- Up from the Keep (I prefer to think of it as the dungeon ;-)

What it used to look like before they started to dismantle the castle almost 200 years ago. It was a way of "demilitarizing" in those days. Bricks and stones were sold or used for village construction down below or elsewhere.

Ruined or not, I am particularly impressed with stone work. # 7 shows craftsmanship that would be difficult to find being done today to say the least. Great set!

I'm ENVIOUS!! What an incredible place...you got some great shots, are you loving the camera?? I tried going in to a dungeon once in England... the most CREEPY feeling overcame me and I totally freaked out and had to fight my way backwards in a very tight space filled with people... just couldn't get out of there soon enough!!

A wonderful trip to the past. I like to see the old walls surrounded by new grass and flowers, a testimony that the world is always the same, only the human constructions, even strong and almost invincible is ephemeral.
