Brightening up a Rainy Day

2008.05.16
I took a lot of flower/gardening pictures during the week that didn't make it into other daily blogs.

The verbena in my windowbox.

Sweet allysum, also in the window box.

And a big pink petunia. It reminds me of an old victrola horn.

I have pansy overload!

All you need is just a little impatiens.

I'm so happy we're past the frost warning and I can plant impatiens again. They do fantastic in my back yard, under the shade of the apple tree.

I got a new butterfly bush this year. The one we had a few years ago did well, until the rain gutter broke over the winter and the bush became encased in ice. This one is not near any gutters or downspouts. I'm looking forward to getting hummingbird moths again.

Pansy bud.

Newborn pansy.

The moneyplants are starting to form the "money" seedpods.

Today. :(

Bleah. It's cold, wet, dark and dreary. It makes me want to hibernate. Or go shopping. But I'd have to leave the house to go shopping, so... hibernation it is.

Except that the cats and dog need to be fed. Beavis should be walked. The litterboxes need to be cleaned. The dishes need to be loaded into the dishwasher. Laundry should be done. Clothes should be put away. And all I want to do is sleep til the sun comes back out.
