And so this is Fritzmas...

2008.01.21
Thanks to conflicting work schedules, we celebrated Fritzmas last night. As you can tell, Fritz was thrilled.

It really IS what happy tastes like!

The choosing of the knife...

The big one wins!

Yum, before the carnage.

Taken this morning, you know it's really cold when there's ice on the INSIDE of my stairway window.

Got home a little earlier than normal, so I got to take Beavis for a walk before it was pitch black, and single digit temps, outside.

Full moon.

Full moon behind some white birch.

Twilight in the 'burbs.

Looking towards the mall area, with the towers on Penobscot Mountain in the background. When I was little, I thought the blinking red lights on the towers were the ancestors of Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer. Because I was somehow aware that the Rudolph movie was about 12 years old by the time I was old enough to know what I was watching, and in that time, Rudy could have easily fathered multiple fawns who shared his genetic mutation. I was an odd child.

Fritzmas is the celebration of my husband's, Fritz, birthday. Fritzmas orginated because, as a non-religious person, he wanted an excuse to celebrate the yuletide festivities. The season of Fritzmas actually starts in October, and runs through January, and is celebrated with eating, drinking and general merriment. Shopping for Fritzmas gift-giving is traditionally done after Christmas, when everything is on sale. It's the perfect holiday.
