February Scavenger Hunt

2008.02.29
Year. On a fire hydrant. I never noticed they have years on them before. I never thought of them as something that got worn out and needed to be replaced. I check them out now. The newest I've seen in the 'hood is from 2006, the oldest was 1975.

Audience. Poison in concert in 1991. God, was it really that long ago?! That's CC DeVille, the guitarist. And lots of arms from audience members.

Yoke. I went the homonym route. These are some of my fridge magnets.

On the lam. Baby Gracie, hiding out under my tv cabinet.

Newspaper. Beavis always wants to pee on this. I don't let him. People have to touch it.

Espresso. Really bad picture taken with my phone of a box of haircolor in the grocery store. I thought I'd be a little too nuts if I bought it just to take a picture for the Scavenger Hunt. Although the color would be a perfect match. Maybe if I had a coupon...

Self Portrait. The two on the left are self-portraits. The others are a copy of a portrait of Rembrandt's wife, and Beav. I need to do a new one of Beavis. I need to paint more in general.

Xenophobe. Maybe not the most precise definition, but Nanuk doesn't exactly seem like the most welcoming sort here.

Tomorrow. March 1st! And yes, that is a Beavis 2008 calendar. I made it on Cafepress.

Rebel. He's trespassing, but at least he's not dumping.

Artist. Maybe letting this cat out of the bag will get me to finish the projects I started. I began this a while ago, and the paint on the palette has dried out. I need to get off my butt and color it in already!

Documentation. More like DOGumentation.

Academic. My bumper sticker.

Closeup.

Yesterday. The song's been stuck in my head since I saw the word on the list.

Tree hugger. Sure, he's really just trying to not be seen, but he is hugging the tree.

Onion. On the Russian Orthodox church up the street.

High. View of a tree by the railroad tracks, from below the railroad bridge.

Urban. The "booming metropolis" of downtown Wilkes Barre.

New Age. Holistic cat and dog food is about as new age as I get. But they love the stuff! Beavis' coat has improved greatly on it, and the cats haven't horked a hairball since switching from a popular brand's hairball formula.

Tryst. Gypsy and her "preciouses," Smacky and Snakey.

Sure, some of them are a huge stretch. Some of them are homonyms. Some of them are lousy pictures. But I got all 20 entries on the February Scavenger Hunt list!

Beagles3 Nice job on the scavenger hunt list. Where do you find this list? Even though there are only a few Beavis pictures it was still fun! I love your paintings. They look so much like the real thing!!

AllErica Great job on all of it. I like when you "stretch" the definitions. It totally adds to the creative factor.

ncshutterbug OMG OMG OMG! Lorina! I'm absolutely floored, stunned, thrilled, touched, you name it. Thank you, thank you SO much, from both of us. Excuse me, I have to go now. I have something in my eye.
