Caturday!

2008.04.23
Gypsy, birdwatching.

A little out of focus, but I like her expression. She just had a Whiskas Temptation, aka Kitty Krack.

Black cat in front of a bright window... not the easiest to photograph.

This morning, laying in a spot of sun on the back of the "cat couch." The cat couch is one that was left here, upstairs, by a previous owner. Probably many previous owners. Probably the first owner. It's old. Really old. I'm guessing maybe 1940s? And too big to get downstairs. I swear they build the house around it. The only other option would be to take a chainsaw to it to get rid of it, so I slipcovered it instead. The cats are polite enough to sharpen their claws on it under the slipcover, and don't bother with our living room couch downstairs.

The cat couch has many framed vintage cat prints over it. Technically, the room is my art studio. But who am I kidding? It's the cats' room. Their food is here. One of their litter boxes is here. The scratching post is here. They just let me use the room from time to time.

"Are you going soon? There's a patch of sunlight I don't want to miss."

Gracie, downstairs.

Her radar ears pick up everything. They're in constant motion.

"There's something outside!"

She looks so embarassingly fat when she lays like this. Like Cartman on Weight Gain 4000. "BEEFCAKE!!!!"

"Whoah! THREE CATNIP MICE! This is a bit overwhelming."

"DIE, MICE, DIE!"

Sure, it looks like a moment of sweet kitty kisses, but it's really Gracie invading Gypsy's "personal space," with lots of growling.

Gypsy is not a big fan of Gracie. I was waiting for the swatting to begin.

Surprisingly, probably because I had the camera ready, the swatting never happened.

My girls, Gypsy and Gracie.

debbyfaye I'm still smiling over #6. She has a look of complete and utter disgust on her face "What-evah. Just take the dang picture!" I love both she and Gracie, they both have such personalities. I thought Gypsy was giving her a kiss at the end, but the ears in the next shot look like she's contemplating giving her a smack instead. :P

Beagles3 Your kitties are just too cute. A lot of personality in their faces and expressions.

#8 you can almost see the ears moving to hone in on the sound. #9 is a beautiful profile shot.

ncshutterbug Like Deb, I just love #6 - quintessential Gypsy. And Gracie is as loveable as always. :)

Liselaime Wow, Gypsy seems so..big. Is it all fluff? I love the shots of Gypsy and Gracie interacting/threatening each other.
