Ready for the weekend already.

2008.04.24
My azalea is finally starting to bloom.

Are violets still called violets when they're mostly white?

More blooming trees.

Yummmm. A mouthful of something fresh and wriggly!

Birch trees, with little caterpillar looking dangly bits.

The "spinners" on maple trees are the most amazing colors.

She had the right idea. Just laying in the sun.

Beavis, craning to see the kitty.

"But... but.. over there, there's another dog!"

If I would read my camera's manual, the windmill would have been blurred as it spun.

Ugh. Up fifteen cents since I last got gas.

I tried taking some self-portraits today. And amazingly, I like them. But... when did I get a dimple?!

My "is it almost ready to click?" face.

Two flats of new annuals to plant. Beavis had to investigate. And pee on them.

A white streaked money plant.

Bleeding heart starting to bloom.

Mr. Tinklepants didn't kill my grape hyacinths after all!

More moneyplants. If they were real, I'd be rich!

My new hummingbird feeder.

He looks like a muppet. See all the bird seed on the ground? He's running right under my feeder.

Two bins of branches and twigs, ready to be picked up tomorrow.

Crop circle? No. It's where one of the bins were.

Red and black pansy.

Red pansy.

Honeysuckle.

More honeysuckle.

A squirrel yesterday. He didn't know who to vote for in Tuesday's primaries. He's still on the fence.

I didn't see the icky tent caterpiller until I downloaded the image. Ewww.

Soaking up the sun yesterday morning.

Sunset last night, after thunderstorms.

It's kinda funny to me that I'm "ready for the weekend." I was off sick from work Monday and Tuesday, so I've only worked two days this week, but... I'm more than ready for the weekend.

Tomorrow's Arbor Day. I don't have room in my yard for another tree. It's a tiny lot, and I have one old as dirt crabapple tree, and one baby sapling crabapple that we didn't have the heard to mow down. But I'm doing my part (kinda) by planting a honeysuckle vine. I've wanted one for years, but never saw one at a nursery. My happy place, Lowes, had them, so I had to buy one. :)

And while I was there... I picked up some more annuals. Pansies are half price. And while I was there... well, my friend Lissa's posts with her hummingbirds made me jealous, so I got a hummingbird feeder. And while I was out (but not there) I stopped at AC Moore for some flowerpots, a plant stand and a new shepherd's hook.

Ok. So my gardening addiction is bad enough, but I'm not sure if my gardening addiction is fueling my photography addiction, or the other way around? And just where does my home improvement superstore addiction figure into all this?

Hrm. I just realized that while I was there, I forgot to get a replacement bulb for the "lasts for 10 billion hours!" halogen light over my stove. Damn. I have to go to Lowes. Again. Oh. The hardship.

Beagles3 All of the photo's are great! Of course the Beavis ones are favorites!!

Hey your premium gas price is the cheapest price for our regular at the cut-rate stations. Most places her in Nor California are at $4.00 + a gallon!

debbyfaye I love this set. #28 is so pretty, even with the yucky caterpillar.

ncshutterbug Your honeysuckle is pink! I've never seen pink honeysuckle before - that's so cool! Ours is yellow, and it's not blooming yet.

I love the hummingbird feeder, and I hope you get as much enjoyment from it as we do ours.

I love the grape hyacinths and the bleeding hearts. Maybe someday I'll have some bleeding hearts, but I don't know if they'll do well here. My fuchsias are already drooping; I don't think they like the heat.

Last, but certainly not least, your comment on the squirrel cracked us both up. :)

debbyfaye I also want to add that I would so love to grab that cat up and bring it home. I can't believe you haven't tried yet. :)
