Hello, Kitty!

2008.04.27
Raindrops on roses and whiskers... wait. Those aren't roses. Let's try again...

Raindrops on roses and... nope. That's a tulip.

Ok. So I don't have roses. But I do have whiskers on kittens!!! Well, one kitten for starters. Maybe more later.

He's as terrified as he looks, but sweet.

I hope he knows what the litterbox is for.

Daddy looking in on him.

Too scared to play with a catnip mouse.

Hello, Kitty!

Since I had to run to the pet store for kitten food and KMR, I couldn't resist getting Beavis a new BoBo. It has a soccer ball! Beavis couldn't wait to get his paws on it.

Wouldn't let me take one more picture.

"It's MY BoBo!"

He likes it.

Say hello to my little friend!

I was outside gardening, and Beavis kept yapping his head off. I walked over to see what he was barking at, and didn't see anyone. Went back go gardening. He kept barking at the side gate. I looked again, and saw two tiny little black kittens playing under the steps by the back porch of my neighbor across the street.

We asked the neighbors about them, and they're strays. Mama and some kittens are getting in their basement from under the steps. We got the OK to try to rescue them, and caught this little guy. No others have shown their faces since we nabbed him.

We might need to set live traps in their basement to catch the others.

The funny thing is, just this morning, Fritz and I were talking about Sheba and how much we miss her and how goofy she was, and we agreed it might be time to think about getting another kitty.

Little Guy (no name yet) is another feral (even looks a lot like my Gyspy), but is so young, he should be easy to tame. He's only about five weeks old or so. He'll hiss when he's scared, but hasn't tried to bite or swat. He'll eat off my fingers, and I can give him KMR (kitten milk replacement) with a syringe.

ncshutterbug WOW - those flower photos are fantastic! Absolutely perfect.

Speaking of perfect - so is the title of your post. What an adorable kitty he is, and I'm glad you're keeping him. I hope you're able to get the others, too.

Lynda Oh what a cutie- so glad he'll have a loving home with you and maybe have a brother or sister, too. 2 cats are so much happier than a singleton. And hope also that you find homes for the other litter mates.

Liselaime Aww, what an adorable kitten! I hope you find the other ones and they make their way to good homes. We've had five cats over the years and we always adopt strays, either right off of the street or from the shelter.
