April Scavenger Hunt

2008.04.30
Loose. Well, he was up until last night anyway. This is the newest family member. He's kitten Number Two, and has no name yet.

Construction. Ok, once again my timing is off. It will be construction, pending the zoning hearing.

I took a walk specifically to take a picture of a house that's been under construction for at least six years now. I swear, they were putting up one strip of siding a week. So I thought, "Perfect for the construction photo on the scavenger hunt!" Nope. They finished it, probably sometime in the past week.

Under the weather. A repeat, but a different crop of the image. Beavis was mopey after getting vaccinations a few weeks ago.

Rebirth. Return of the Hostas.

Odd one out. He'd be the odd one in, too, but he is outside. He's just odd, anywhere you put him.

Hidden Beauty. A waterfall deep in a ravine at Seven Tubs Nature Area, which is only a few miles from my house. We haven't been there in almost two years, and I have no idea why. It's gorgeous there!

Honey, part one. Fritz at Seven Tubs, acting the way the world expects him to act, like an obnoxious bastard.

Honey, part two. The other side of Fritz that I get to see, snuggling a kitten.

Larger than Life. Photoshopped Beavis.

The Look. Pippin gives the look of death.

Unusual Group Shot. Ok, not so unusual, but just so damn cute! Kitty NoName in the back and Pippin with the look of eternal surprise on his face in the front.

Swish. My hideous scrubs on the line.

Multicolored. Flat of pansies.

Pink. Creeping Phlox.

Strutting. Need I say more?

Vanishing Point. Taken years ago with a really crappy camera, Fritz lost on a hiking trail at Hickory Run state park, near some railroad tracks. He's reading the map. There were no railroad tracks on the map.

We got a second kitten! The neighbors caught this one last night and gave it to me. I'm pretty sure this is a boy, too. Pure black and long-haired, and looks sooooo much like Gypsy. Since she was a neighborhood stray, they're probably related.

So I was up til 2am feeding kittens and getting them comfortable with each other, then back up at 6 to feed them more. I'm dead tired, and very happy they're eating mooshed up canned food now. I won't have to bottle feed after this last batch of milk is done! Yay! When I went to bed last night, they were still hissing, spitting and swatting at each other. I guess they forgot they're siblings. This morning, they were snuggled so close, they looked like a two headed ball of black fluff.

The first kitty is now tenatively called Pippin, after my favorite Hobbit from Lord of the Rings. Pip is getting friendlier and more playful and outgoing.

The second one has no name yet. He's still terrified and hisses at me all the time. He's fine once I start petting him or hold him, but very frightened.

I saw two more today, but couldn't catch them. It looks like another longhaired solid black, and shorthaired black and white like Pippin.

ncshutterbug Awww, I love Fritz cuddling the kitten. That's one of the sweetest pictures I've ever seen. The scrubs on the line is a very cool shot - love the composition. The Look needs to be submitted to ICHC - it's perfect for captioning!

debbyfaye If I lived closer, we'd be a house with 4 cats. They are adorable and Mike said the next one is black, so there you go. Too bad it would be such a long road trip.

Beagles3 Oh this is a great set! The kittens are so cute. Pippin with the little white patch on his chest. The photo of Fritz being all cuddly with the kitten is priceless.

I love the LOOK photo of Pip and last but no least ever is the set that includes my fan favorite BEAVIS!!! He is just the cutest thing. I wish I could meet him in person to give his a scratchie on the back and belly!

mrutherford22 Oh where to start...The photoshopped Beav makes me laugh out loud. I also love the two of the kitty and Beavis strutting his stuff. I'm so glad you got the second kitty!
