Another Mishmosh

2008.05.08
The kittens have a "new home" in the home. They're getting too big and frisky for the rabbit cage, but I still need to keep them quarantined, so they're in the bathroom now.

Pippin likes to explore.

It took Fergus a while to figure out how to get back OUT of the bathtub.

Pippin always look surprised.

Fergus always looks confused. Especially when Pip appears out of nowhere like that, jumping onto the edge of the tub.

Their different personalities are starting to show. Fergie is more mellow. He's more content to sit on your lap and be petted.

And sometimes he lays down in the food dish.

Pippin is more outgoing, more active and much more talkative. He meows if I hold Fergus and don't hold him, but as soon as I pick him up, he wants down again.

And he's a mighty hunter!

I'm still on the fence about the Feline Pine. I like it in theory, that it's all natural and the used litter (after poops are scooped) can be used as mulch. But it can be messy. They track sawdust all over the place. That's better than dusty clay litter getting tracked all over the place, and it'd probably be a lot better if they didn't play in the box. But I'll keep using it, at least with the little guys, for now.

Beavis enjoyed running in the mud and rain this morning. I made him "play dead" to show off his blackened belly.

"Okay... I'm not really dead! Can I have my cookie now?!"

Fergus looking at Beavis, through a baby gate.

Pippin watches from atop the toilet, which seems to be his new favorite place. That's daddy's boy!

Birdie friends.

I think I'm being insulted in bird-talk.

Two more buddies on a rail fence.

Taking pictures of Beavis is much more fun now that everything's come back to life.

I've never met a dog that poses quite like Beav.

Windblown.

One of the perks of walking near the tennis courts. We didn't keep it, though.

My little poof, in a field of dandelion poofs.

Was that "poof" or "goof?"

I really like doing themes. But I just can't seem to decide which of the pictures I take to post, and my favorite ones each day have nothing at all to do with each other. So it ends up being a hodgepodge of photos, but it'll be nice to be able to look back on this in a few weeks, months or longer and remember my day.

And as a really rough day at work, I'd much rather remember today with frisky kittens and a happy muddy dog, with sunshine, flowers and little chirpy birds, and not the day one of my favorite doggie patients lost her fight. Euthanasias are always hard, but it's worse when you're close to the client and patient.

RIP, Tashi. Your mommy loved you and did everything she could and more to save you.

ncshutterbug OMG that Beavis. What a dirty belly! But that shot of him in the dandelion fields is definitely a keeper.

I'm loving the kitties, and love their personalities. How long do you have to keep them quarantined?

mrutherford22 I love your mix of photos. My favorite is Beavis in the dandelion poofs and your kitties watching Beav from a safe distance. I said a prayer for Tashi and her mommy. Losing a pet is one of the hardest things I've ever gone through. They are lucky to have you.
