Gracie, Gardening and Walkies

2008.05.11
My simple little girl.

"You mean... I'm adopted?!"

"Today on TunaTalk, we will be discussing canned vs. pouch foods. Which do you prefer, and why? Do we have a caller on line one? Anyone? Anyone at all?!"

Bleeding hearts.

I'm amazed both my plants came back this year. The first one appeared to die within a week of planting it last summer.

Tall grass, short dog.

He had a blast running in it. I stepped in dog poo, though.

The tail has a life of it's own.

A robin. Would've made more sense if it had been an Oriole, a Cardinal, a Bluejay, or even a Toledo Mudhen.

Someone left both a basketball and a soccerball in the park. I know Beavis can destroy a basketball in under 30 seconds, so I guided (read: dragged) him away from it.

But for old time's sake, just one little kick...

And he's off like a rocket!

Penny for your thoughts?

The biggest concern with a brachycephalic (shortfaced) dog is overheating. So, it's easier for us (read: him) to play rough in the winter months than it is when it's warm. We cut the soccer game short, and headed off to the trail for a walk in the shade.

I dunno. Something about this looks like it could be an album cover in the 1970s. If, instead of Beavis, it had Bobby Sherman or David Cassidy. Because no one would ever buy "Beavis Sings Songs of Love and Longing."

Besides, Beavis doesn't do mellow 70s folk songs. Beavis Rocks!

I picked up another bag of river rocks to put around my flowerbeds today.

"What's taking you so long, Mommy!?"

"Uh... I have thirty pounds of rocks strapped to my back?!"

Maybe I need to fashion a little cart for Beavis to pull. He can help me bring home the rocks.

Yeah. That'd work really well.

A pile of pansies.

Watering the plants.

Fergus fell in the toilet today. I think he's a little... dim. He doesn't catch onto things quite as quickly as Pippin. Poor little kitty. At least he's cute. And this means that sweet, simple Gracie is no longer the dumbest one in the house. And she's gotten lost under my desk.

ncshutterbug The critters are as lovable as always. The shots of the bleeding hearts and the penny in the grass are fantastic - now THAT'S a true photographer's eye - thinking of the photo before picking up the penny!) The last shot is great as well - and not easy to do!
