All creatures great and ... some not so great, really.

2008.05.15
A neighborhood stray. I've seen her in my yard a couple of times. At first glance, I thought Gracie escaped!

I'm having Watership Down flashbacks.

If they don't mow this hill soon, I might lose Beavis!

Just hanging around, having lunch with friends.

The cedar waxwings (thanks, Lissa!) are still around.

Still hanging out in large groups, still just a little too far up in the trees to get a really good shot.

Bzzzzz.

Halp. I'm under attack!

I give them toys. I buy them toys. I even make them toys. And what do they want to play with? My shoes.

"You has a flavor."

Pippin is an acrobat... errr... acrocat.

Tada!

Oh, no! The two headed kitten monster!

Fergus and Beavis, through the baby gate.

It's amazing. Fergus seems to love Beavis. Pippin is a big more standoffish. Whenever I open the door, Fergie is right at the gate, looking to sniff Beav. Yet, he poofs up and hisses if he sees Gracie or Gypsy through the gate. You'd think he'd be more afraid of the waddling, one-eyed ball of fur than his own species. Especially considering Gypsy looks so much like his mommy.

The Guardian of the Porch.

"I'm gonna miss the bus! I'm gonna miss the bus!"

He can levitate!

(Beavis bounces when he barks at the bus. Try saying that five times fast!)

I'm both completely grossed out...

... yet strangely fascinated by the tent caterpillars.

A perfect shot of Beavis by my garden all lined up, and he has to take a tinkle.

At least his tail looks lovely.

Gracie shunning me.

You can't quite tell in the picture, but her right nostril and the right side of her nose is scratched. I guess she invaded Gypsy's personal space and got whapped. Again. Poor little girl's been sniffly with her boo boo nose.

"Do not mess with my personal space."

Monday's the big day. The kittens will go with me to the vet's office for the day for their first set of vaccinations and a checkup. Hopefully, the vet will give the ok to do their FeLV/FIV tests, so I can start to merge the feline household. It's getting harder and harder to keep them confined to the bathroom.

I don't know what the hell I'll do if they're positive. I'm incredibly attached to the little guys. They've become lap cats, and purr and purr and purr every time I go into "their room." They always want to be on my lap, and to put it delicately, there are times when you're in the bathroom sitting down that you do not want a cat on your lap. ;)

Poor simple Fergus can't figure out how to jump onto my lap, though. If I sit on the edge of the tub, he'll jump onto the toilet, then to my lap, but he hasn't realized (thankfully!) that to go straight from the floor to my lap, he needs to use his claws a little.

Pippin has no reservations about using the claws get where he wants to go. He'll try to jump on my lap when I'm standing! He's climbed as far as my waist, sometimes while I'm performing delicate tasks like putting in my contacts. Little stinker!

So say a prayer, send vibes, or cross your fingers that they're clean and healthy little critters, please. :)

ncshutterbug I'm definitely saying a prayer for them. I'm attached to them, too!

Numbers 11 and 12 are so good, and so funny - as is Beavis levitating. Cracks me up! The tent caterpillars still creep me out, though. *shudder* I haven't seen any in a while, so I hope this means they're gone.

Liselaime Aww! I hope they're okay. I've heard of some people with FIV+ and FIV- cats who keep them together after first making sure that they won't fight with each other, but your cats are perhaps a bit scratch happy..
