So this is what my car looked like last night after my nutty evening. There's even mud on my windshield which has now turned hard as rock since I'm not big on car washing.
D's violin teacher called to cancel his lesson. She's almost 80 but is one of the most active people I know.
She was canceling because she didn't feel well. She was just diagnosed with an enlarged heart and can barely stay awake. It turns out her tiny, little room heater (she doesn't have central heat) broke, she was feeling terrible, cold AND hungry. So I get in my car to bring her a heater and some dinner. She lives 30 minutes from my house in a lean-to attached to a barn (no lie), with no street signs, no street lights and no paved roads. We've had torrential rains the past week. No paving + rain = lots of mud.
I was a little worried I'd get stuck in the mud, in the dark and my cell phone had zero reception out there. She really does live on the edge of the earth (as she likes to say). Oh! & my gas light went on when I was almost to her house. Awesome!
