Desert in Bloom

So after the soccer game yesterday mother-in-law wanted to drive up through the Anza Borrego desert.

We'd heard that it was peak time in the blooming cycle so this was the time to go.

Mother-in-law had always wanted to see the Anza Borrego.
She loved it. She really enjoys wide open expanses and the beauty of the desert.

On the other hand, I really love more cozy spaces and lush landscape. We found out that she'd choose mountain living as opposed to water living and I was the exact opposite.

I thought the scenery was beautiful but was hoping for even more color. I almost got laughed out of the visitor center when I asked where I could find all the "color".

I guess I'm really not a desert gal ;)
