Backlighting...

2008.11.29

My kids HATE facing the light for photos.
Makes them all squinty anyway. So try putting the sun behind your subject. It may give you a bit of sunflare & even make the shot look slightly hazy but that is an effect I am drawn to.

Working with backlighting can be tricky.

Meter on their faces, maybe even go one stop up for a bit more brightness on the face.

If you have your camera set to partial or spot metering (mine was set to spot), it might help you in not blowing out your sky (keeps it a bit more blue!)

anoopb ironically the ruf and tuff dad is striking a pleasant pose... where as the little one is sporting an attitude...
great lighting...i have tried snaps with the sun for backlight and have had debatable success...so that makes this snap all the more incredible for me... really good work...
