(Sorry for the very poor quality of the photos but I couldn't stay still for a moment since there was always someone pushing me from one side or another)
1 December = National Day of Romania = Awful day for the traffic in Bucharest's center. This year Millenium Bank gave us the world's tallest Christmas (metal) tree. Tones, tens of thousands of curious people came to see the miracle. Results? Awful traffic... or should I say NO traffic at all since everything was blocked?! It took me 30min to get out to the surface from the subway (what you usually do in 5min maximum) walking like a penguin along with a compact mass of people. And when I finally saw the sky, I reached the wave of people who wanted to go back to the subway, killing each other for some space. Mothers crying because they've lost their kids, friends trying to stick together but failing, both Vodaphone and Orange networks went down, lost of noise...some kind of concert somewhere, "I swear I will never ever go to this kind of things again" could be heard anywhere.
And still... the lighting style between Unirii and Universitate looks pretty. It's not like last year when there were so many tiny leds that hurt your eyes. Also, the tree gives quite a show at night, when different kind of lights go on and off. :)
