Dear Dad,

2007.10.09

Today we went to the LA Zoo. It has changed a lot since you took me as a kid.

There were still tons of primates...

But did you know they have other animals, too? This is a Fossa. They eat Lemurs!!!

I'm sure you've seen pictures of giraffes before.

There were many other beautiful animals too! Maybe we can go explore and see what we can find sometime!

The giraffe is great.
Suggest you give a touch of "unsharpen mask" to crisp it up a tad.

I can hardly bear to look at chimpanzees knowing they and the other higher apes being driven to extinction. I stared into the eyes of an orang-utan once, and was moved by its deep dark intelligence.
