This made me so sad. A generation ago, my father's family lost everything. What is most precious are the things that hold the history of the family - like old photos, pictures of people long gone, books and letters. Memory means everything when there is so much lost.

Same for me ! Earthquakes, hurricanes and whatever we have around here, can take lives and erase so many things.... I made scans of lots of family pictures and saved them in different places. But I know the best memory we can leave to others is the Love we give them.

I take a class with a woman who lost her house, her belongings, her photos in the flood. She calls New Orleans the Lost City. She, too, tries to recapture some of her images visually. Several months ago <i>Poets and Writers</i>magazine printed several essays by writers who had called New Orleans home. The essays were poignant—especially regarding the loss of photos, memoirs and notes. I like this image you've created—it speaks to me.

I agree that this is really sad, like people whoes lose the house is already bad, but it is worse when you lose sometime that you kept it for a long time as a momory . Woderful drawing.. I look at the photo, feeling as the momery on the memory
