Amazing that I actually found a 1969 penney....and that I actually have a photo. I can't remember who took this photo from back stage while we were playing this concert but I'm glad he shared it. We were the 'chocolate bathtub rings' for a while. From left to right is Ozzie (RIP), Joe, George and myself. Maybe we were playing the Lovin' Spoonful's "You didn't have to be so nice". I really don't remember. I wanted to play the solo from Inagodda da vidda but the bass player wasn't having it. All kinds of wild stuff went on back there. I do remember playing basketball two weeks before and got my finger knocked clear out of joint. Somebody taped the drumstick to my hand and the show went on.

Here's the story:
In the book, "The Hundred Penny Box", a very old woman has a box filled with pennies dated one for each year of her life. The child in the story goes to the box and pulls out a penny, and the old woman tells the child a story from that year of her life.

Oh my gosh, this is priceless: the drumstick TAPED to your hand....and the "Chocolate Bathtub Rings"!! In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida... I remember that from high school dances. Great memory and shot, so glad you shared it. 8^)
