Plum Creek Park...before the macro-madness...

For some reason, this flower made me think of peaches. Didn't taste it to see just how far the similarity went...

Busy beetles.

Mr Ant, busily doing...something...

Someone ought to tell this grasshopper he'd blend in better with some brown plants.

The elusive Mr Butterfly. Only took me about 30 shots to catch him NOT flapping his wings or switching flowers.

Most excellent waxy pods...

Despite the intense heat we've been experiencing lately, Branson and I decided to head out on an early morning photo expedition (well, 10am, but it seemed early at the time). We didn't actually wind up beating the heat, but we did manage to get some shots before we melted. We headed down to a little garden area in Plum Creek Park, where there were plenty of sniffle-inducing flowers (still haven't adapted to the plants and pollens of Nebraska fully) and critters flitting around them. I also managed to pull back a little and take some non-macros, something I've been wanting to do a little more of these days (I still love macro, but some times the big picture is more attractive).

etodd80 Great to see your macro lens back in action here! You definitely are the macro-man! A ton of great ones! The non-macros are good too. Love the angle on #2, and #5. Great persistence with the butterfly, it paid off! Excellent shots all around!
