I LOVE social commentary :) I of course do not think he is better than the unsung heroes - but naturally, someone has to get the credit for being in a leadership role. Many of us, to include me, would rather not be in a high visibility position - and would rather do the grunt work that needs to be done, even if - at the end - would mean propping up a person who had little or possibly nothing to do with the achievement :) Therefore, my conclusion is the propped up figure usually represents the movement of all involved rather than a lone brave soul (which - I guess - rarely could be wrong :) B.T.W - the man is Philip Sheridan - not that the i.d. has anything to do with your query nor with my statement
