What "Outside of My Comfort Zone" Looks Like

These images were taken for a project in my Photo Design class. We were to "expand our idea of landscape" and photograph an "uncomfortable" landscape. This is categorized as a "taskscape". The second shot is the one that I used, but the first one just gives a glimpse into our studio at the school and a glimpse into my photographic life.

I do not enjoy portraiture as well as I am not fond of modeling (and when you are surrounded by photographers that need a model, eventually you will be asked to do it). It is an extremely uncomfortable place for me and quite a struggle within myself when faced with portrait assignments.

McMommy When I saw your shot on fb... I immediately thought "self portrait" ... awesome place to be every day. I have severe envy :) I'm glad you're enjoying it (the whole school experience, I mean, not this 'uncomfortable landscape' ;) )

karmankwarner I like the black and white effect of this. The darkened areas appear almost foreboding...wonderfully done. One thing about a comfort zone. . .the more you step out of it; the more it expands.
