Hammeau de Beaumont...La beauté ancienne.

2010.03.29

Beaumont ( a cycle ride away) consists of a church and five houses.

Another perspective on a sunny morning.

VERY old stonework.

I climbed those old stone steps and walked alongside the church to the front where I met this lovely old lady. She kindly allowed me a photograph.
pixel
She asked me to take this one with "ses paniers".
pixel
The old lady started the conversation with "Bonjour madame". Of course with my English accented response she wanted to know where I was from. After thirty minutes I'd promised her the photos I'd taken so I'll be returning when the geraniums are in bloom.
She was born locally on a farm; as a younger woman she owned a hairdresser's salon in Lyon. She lost her husband in 2004 and now lives with her two dogs.

Beeeater Amazing! To think she worked and probably lived in one of France's largest cities. You must have been like breath of sweet fresh air for her.
