Day 34 - Adventures while driving in town

It rained for a little bit today, but mostly it was just over cast all day. Canon 5D/50mm

This is my along the way progress report! Today, I did a little reflecting on what this project (356) was teaching me. I suppose you get what you put into things, but I kinda had an eye opening day. I realized this project has revived the love of picking up my camera and shooting for me. I love owning my own business and shooting weddings, but I think I have to make time for both in my life. Everyone seems to be under a notion that owning your own business is wonderful because you aren't "working for the man" (and maybe I thought that at one time, that it was just that easy) but it's very hard work and it takes a lot of "getting out of your box" to be successful.
I've also realized that I'm appreciating things a lot more. I can find beauty and art in the mundane. I might not have given a second thought about the rain on my windshield, but I'm constantly thinking to myself "that would make a good picture" even if I'm just standing in a grocery store.
Finally, I'm proud of myself for sticking with it. I know it's only 34 days so far, but it feels good to know that I've sucked it up and taken a picture of something, even on the days I really really don't feel like it.
Good stuff. I'm sure I'll include these every so often.

Great job on a rainy day. I've just started project 365 too and found the first few days hard going, but I now find it very rewarding and as you say you see the world in a different light. NIce shots

oh yeah... I used to listen to the Pogues a lot... totally forgot all about them. Thanks for reminding. Nice abstract shots, btw ;)
