Day 105 - You Can't Ever Go Home Again?

I thought it was time to make up for my lack of self portraits. Canon 5D/ 70-200mm
My feet...most would say these are not my best feature.
I don't have a release I thought I would jump at the last minute....I'm not sure if this is going up or coming down..but it was fun.
A very colorful rooster butt!
Knick nack that looks cool
chimes to the grandfather clock
Jackson, a recurring guest star.
Warhol. My old kitty who retired to my parent's house.
Camera Phone...don't mind the backward numbers on the clock
After my client meeting I took a quick walk around the book store and found ELMER. He seemed to be reading up on some pretty serious illnesses. *hope he's ok.
Or maybe home is the person who brings you a chocolate fish :) Canon 5D
The Shins - New Slang(Garden State) If you haven't seen Garden state, it's a great movie about going home.

Well I did go back home today. I have not read the book that the title was taken from, but I can image that it was meant in the sense that your home is never the same as it was when you were a kid. Everything changes. This is something I know but sometimes have a hard time with. I like my scenery to change, just not so much the people. But maybe home isn't the house where you live now or the home in which you grew up. Maybe home is symbol for the people that you feel the most yourself around and safe and loved. This could be biological family or people you've sought out in your life. After all, your physical home is just hard wiring and knick nacks (some of which remind us of things, others that just look pretty).

smbunation Looks like you had a great time with this set. Nice work. Garden State really is a good flick - I haven't read the book either...

drohask This is a great set, particularly the self portraits. In a world full of contrived portraits with fake smiles, these are so relaxed and full of personality. Your innovative perspectives are really refreshing and we've thoroughly been enjoying your posts. Oh, and great pick on Garden State- love the movie and the soundtrack.

pxlmnky Another fabulous set. Especially Warhol, doing the "uninterested in the camera" routine.

kellybee322 Really really lovely set! The self portraits are wonderful and all of them are quite nice in their own right. You are so right about home. It really IS the people that make you feel safe and comfortable.
