Day 114 - Churches and Alcohol

2010.02.19
pixel
Here the church, there's the steeple....no people until tomorrow.

Someone had the audacity to lock these innocent bottles up for crimes they had not yet committed.

Historic parts of town are great! I envy posts I see of old architecture from other countries. Old is a subjective term.
pixel
Saw these as I was running out the door.

This is one of the older churches around here. I believe the historian said it was built in the 1800's . I realize that I cut the top of this off, but I was too short to get all of it. I would have figured out a way, but then the bridal party arrived and I had to start doing my job.

I realize the title in sights much more controversial photos than the ones I put up....but then again...it got you here! No idea what song would work for this post, but I'm open to suggestions.

I have a wedding to shoot tomorrow and I did some prep work today. I went to both the ceremony site and the reception and then made a mad dash home to change clothes before the rehearsal. I like to go to rehearsals when I can to see how everything was going to be organized. I will give the advice to anyone getting married or photographing a wedding: Weddings never go 100% as planned. Always be ready for last minute changes, but know that they almost always turn out ok. (before I get the scoffing comments, I was talking about weddings not marriage :) )

365edgar Great idea~getting the feel for both settings can help alleviate some of the stress I'm sure. Now if the people and the cosmos cooperate all will be perfect! The incarcerated bottles old wooden doors are both lovely shots! Have a great shoot tomorrow.

revenant Break a leg and get paid doing it. Weddings would be my photography nightmare.

pxlmnky Amazing work again. The focus on the gin is verging on the pornographic...

girafferacing Another interesting set. I like your comment about the age of buildings be relative. Reminds me of a scene in the film LA Story where Steve Martin's character shows someone around LA and points out that some of the houses are over twenty years old! As you say, everything's relative....

drohask Lovely set, yet again. We have a special reverence for photographers who take on weddings and clearly you deserve extra props for preparation! Great job at capturing these varied scenes all at 50mm.
