it seems half of manhattan has a dog and people bring their dogs everywhere. Its not uncommon to see someone in a Best Buy looking at a TV with a dog by their side. You can bring your dog pretty much everywhere except where food is sold. So its a pretty common site to see dogs "parked" outside food places.
