Freesheet Stack

2008.01.14

If you listen to some people London is under seige - from Freesheets.

Yes, free newspapers - a modern scourge.

Well, to some - I quite like a newspaper to read on the tube and you can easily avoid picking them up if you need to. The fierce war to become the evening freesheet (between the "London Lite" and "the london paper") even has its advantages - Associated Newspapers publish both the 'Lite and the Metro (distributed in the mornings) - it is no coincidence that they choose to publish the paper where they face freesheet competition with the more expensive ink (that doesn't come off on your hands).

Anyway, that is all an aside - i'm planning a staged shot in a couple of weeks, it will probably look all deep and meaningful, but frankly it is just an idea for a pretty picture. I'll probably get around to doing it at the start of next month (by then i'll also have collected enough newspapers).

ncshutterbug Very nice! You have a way of taking the mundane things in life and turning them into art.

mjsonline A pet hate of photographers is usually when showing someone a picture that you've taken they say "wow you must have a great camera" - because they don't realise that a camera needs someone vaguely competant operating it.

In this case - it is all down to my lens - a 50mm f1.8 - the wide aperture can make everything look great by really narrowing the depth of field.

That said; thanks for the comment!
