Pilgrims

This Shell Light is over the sink in the stateroom on the Norwegian Star cruise ship. I imagine the decorator choose this design as it was nautical. The scallop shell is also the symbol of pilgrims, I guess that any trip is a pilgrimage in some way.

These shells in the next two pictures are in the walls of the original Mission Church in San Jaun Capistrano. Very symbolic for the modern visitor or pilgrim

The shell is use as a route marker on the pilgamage routes to Santiago, Spain, it is a stylized scallop shell.
