Paolo Freire wrote a book called 'Teachers as Cultural Workers' and in it, he addresses future teachers, writing them letters regarding the importance of the profession alongside the harsh reality of the mission. For an assignment, I had to write one of these letters, addressing the politics and culture of the profession with the future teachers of the world. For the next 9 teaching days, I am going to include an excerpt from the letter I wrote. It is very off the cuff, but it was fueled by and even actually written during a discouraging class. For the next 9 school days, these excerpts will be in italics. Don't confuse famous lyrics with my letter, however hard it might be.
Dear Future and Fellow Teachers,
