Teachers exist in a unique middle ground of intense hope and intense darkness. We have hopeful lumps of clay in front of us, on the verge of being a beautiful sculpture. But these chunks of clay have been pierced and grabbed too harshly, molded too swiftly. They dry out earlier than they should.
